Old Hamlet's Calico Bags contain Two Sachets of Fairtrade Mulling Spices for warming mulled wine or hot wine drinks, whether you call it gluhwein, glogg or vin chaud.
Ingredients created and blended at the Steenbergs spice factory in North Yorkshire. Bag sewn in the UK.
Mulled Wine Ingredients: Sugar, Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Cloves.
Directions: Add one bottle of red wine to a pan. Add contents of one sachet to red wine and heat gently, stirring occasionally.
Mulled Cider Ingredients: Sugar, Cinnamon, Cloves, Allspice.
Directions: Pour 1 litre of cider into a saucepan, then add the contents of one Spiced Cider sachet; or 1 – 2 teaspoons per glass. Heat gently, stirring occasionally. Do not let boil, but serve hot. For special occasions, add 1 tablespoon of schnapps, together with slices of apple or lemon.
